Reviews
Totally unexpected. My wife and I just needed something close and quick to make a massage appointment. We considered Zenna, hidden in a strip mall that is in a sketchy hood... and we could not have been more shocked. It was a Matrix experience once we stepped through the door. Beautiful. Ambiance. Affordable. Generous portions. We told the waiter we were in a hurry, and he went out of his way to get us in and out. The food was more than excellent. Best curry we've had in a long time. I had some excellent Tom Yum Soup... you know a meal is good when you are thinking about it the day after. How has this Carrollton gem been a secret? I was concerned about the neighborhood it is in. I am still giving 5 stars... it was that good... but my only comment is I want them to hire off-duty police. The parking lot did not feel safe and we parked next to a couple who were still in their car after we finished... and it did not look like they were doing anything legal... and they were obviously enjoying their tripping when we left. I will park closer to the entrance next time. So I do want to post a warning. I think if they hired off-duty police they would have more business.
Rating them a 4/5 stars simply because they offer what many other places in DFW don't: solid asian food everyday until 3AM. I've visited all three locations (Carrollton, Plano, Dallas) countless times, and have to say that the Carrollton location is the best in terms of food, service, and atmosphere. They offer a mix of Thai food and sushi, plus they have a full service bar. They also offer affordable lunch specials as well as HH in the afternoon. Food Recommendations: 1. Fried Calamari: The batter is light and crunchy. It comes topped with peanuts, and served with a side of sweet and sour sauce. Good for when you want to share, as a small dish, or side dish when you're really hungry. 2. Sashimi Seaweed Salad ($9): Large pieces of thick sliced sashimi topped on a tasty seaweed salad. I usually get this when I'm craving sushi. The fish isn't super high quality, but it taste fresh, and hits the spot when I don't wanna pay crazy money for good sushi. 3. Sushi Rolls: Their sushi rolls are decent. All of them are tasty and priced really fairly. 4. Pad See Eww/Pad Kee Mao ($9-$12): I really enjoy either flat noodle dish here. The noodles are fresh, plus the sauce in both dishes is super tasty. This is my go to order, I usually get the combination pad see eww with level 3 spice. 5. Ice Cream ($3.50): Whenever I'm in the mood for some green tea or red bean ice cream I come here. They serve a large glass piled with the ice cream, totally worth it. Service: I've had good, and I've had bad service here. It honestly depends on who your server is and how busy the restaurant is. All in all, even if I have bad service, I'll still come here just because they open so late... I've also ordered for pick-up and they always have it ready in 10-15 minutes. They even have a nice lounge area with cushioned seats and TVs to wait in while your food is being prepared. TLDR; good food, open late, spotty service, pokestop.
It's been ages since I have been here. I was in the area to actually try out another venue (next door) but that's another review in itself. However I'm pleased that I was able to order the Dynamite roll (tempura) style!!! Oh my goodness..talk about creamy goodness...it was fresh and so pretty..I had demolished it before I realized I didn't take a picture..my bad..but hey what can u say I was hungry!!
